Professional Indemnity Insurance is specifically designed for professionals providing specialized services or advice. This type of insurance protects businesses from claims arising from errors, omissions, or breaches of duty during the provision of services to clients.

If a mistake occurs during work that results in financial loss to a third party (such as a client), Professional Indemnity Insurance will cover legal costs, compensation, and other related expenses to protect the business. This helps companies avoid significant losses when dealing with legal disputes and safeguards their reputation.

At Le Insurance, we offer comprehensive Professional Indemnity Insurance solutions, allowing you to confidently grow your business without worrying about potential legal risks.

Your duty of disclosure

Before you enter into, renew, vary, extend or reinstate a commercial insurance contract, you must tell the insurer everything you know, or could reasonably be expected to know, that is relevant to its decision to insure you and on what terms. You do not need to disclose anything that reduces the risk, is common knowledge, the insurer knows or ought to know, or that the insurer has waived. If you do not comply, the insurer may reduce or refuse a claim or cancel the contract. If the failure was fraudulent, the insurer may treat the contract as if it never existed.

Before you buy

Read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Target Market Determination (TMD) for any policy before deciding. The PDS sets out what is and is not covered, the limits and the excesses. The TMD describes the class of customer the product has been designed for. We will provide the current PDS and TMD for any policy we recommend, or you can request them from us.

Your duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation

When you apply for, renew, vary, extend or reinstate a consumer insurance contract, you have a legal duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation to the insurer. This means answering the insurer's questions honestly, accurately and completely. If you do not, the insurer may cancel your policy, reduce or refuse a claim, or treat the contract as if it never existed.
